PSB vs PSD
PSB and PSD store the same things: layers, masks, adjustment layers, styles and type. The difference is size. PSD tops out at 2 GB and 30,000 × 30,000 pixels; PSB goes far beyond that. You'll see PSB files for large-format print, panoramas, game art and huge mockups.
How to open a PSB online
- Open the editor in a desktop browser.
- Drag the .psb onto the window, or choose File › Open.
- Browse layers, make edits, then save as PSD or export.
Everything is processed locally in your browser, which is also why very large documents depend on your computer's memory. Close other tabs for the best results.
Everything else you can do
Once it's open, a PSB behaves like any PSD in PS Online: toggle layers, edit type, adjust colors, remove backgrounds and export the result.
